When you next book a holiday, make sure the destination is Anantara Maia in the Seychelles. You’ll thank me later!
I had the absolute pleasure and honour to spend one night in this unique, different and wonderful resort, which is located in the western part of Mahé, the main island of the Seychelles. It’s a boutique hotel and not strict to any particular rule. It’s just what guests would like it to be. Their policy is simple and easy, created to make anything come true. Whatever, whenever and wherever it is, you name it and they’ll make it possible. In regards to ‘they’, I am referring to your incredible butler, who won’t simply serve your food and make up your room for you, but someone who will become your friend by the end of the stay. They’ll be someone you’ll be extremely sad to leave, someone who will make your holiday an unforgettable one. In a nutshell, this is Maia.
The 30 villas have all the same decor, Zen and Asian in style. They all feature a wonderful infinity pool and, depending on your location, the outdoor space and views are different. The villas are surrounded by granite boulders and wonderful tropical gardens, with all facing the ocean so they can always guarantee the most breathtaking view. Each night, you’ll experience a different dining option which your butler will organise for you. Every one is a surprise and rest assured you will be blown away each and every single time. The food is delicious, ranging from sushi to Mediterranean and Creole cuisine. The choice is endless and if you feel up for something more personalised, you can easily chat to your chef, who will take no time at all to cook your favourite food. Time at Maia doesn’t exist. You want a burger for breakfast and full English for dinner? Not a problem whatsoever! You’ve chosen to sleep until the early afternoon and would like a croissant with a nice cappuccino? Just ask your butler – literally nothing is too much trouble.
They can arrange anything for you, from crazy, incredible engagement proposals to treasure hunts by helicopter, to wine tasting on a video call with a famous sommelier or deep sea fishing. If you want it, you can do it at Maia! Even snorkelling and scuba diving are included in the room rate. A place like this can only have a wonderful spa, with extremely well-trained staff who will make sure that after every treatment you float – not walk – back to your room. Actually, a 24-hour buggy service will be there waiting for you, so you don’t even need to worry about going back to your room.
Needless to say, Anantara Maia truly is one of the most magical and special places I have ever been. They care about you, they look after you and they make sure you will remember the Seychelles and this piece of paradise for a very long time.
