1. The Villas.
Each of the 79 villas at Anantara Kihavah boasts a private pool, either overwater or tucked away on the beach. The layout means for spacious living, whether you are in a 1,2,3 or 4-bedroom villa, with indoor/outdoor bathrooms and an open concept living space. Crisp white linens and tasteful furnishings have been combined with splashes of colour and subtle yet ultra-modern technologies… the ultimate in Maldivian hygge.
2. The Food.
For a remote tropical island in the heart of the Indian Ocean, we’re not quite sure how Anantara have created no fewer than six mouth-watering restaurants, on top of numerous bucket list dining experiences. From the depths of the world’s first under-water wine cellar to the heights of the new stargazing bar and observatory (plus Asian, Japanese, Creole, seafood, south-east Asian and Mediterranean options in between), food and wine lovers will need at least a week to make the most of the drinking and dining experiences on offer here.
3. The Details.
We love Anantara Kihavah for all the little details which make it unique. The carefully planted orchids decorating the palmed pathways, the cinema under the stars experience complete with paired menus to films (think nachos for Don Quixote and chicken wings for Top Gun), the glass bottomed bathtubs in the overwater villas, the bicycles which come with every villa, the ice cream and sweetie carts…we could go on forever but we don’t want to ruin all the surprises…!
4. The Activities.
We’re not just talking diving and snorkelling here… although Anantara does have an excellent PADI dive centre, expert guides and a coral adoption programme… no no we’re talking Muay Thai boxing, boot camps on the beach, a trampoline park, yoga (on land and overwater), meditation, Pilates, aqua aerobics, tennis, badminton, archery, cookery lessons, art classes, rock climbing and new for 2018… a floating water park. You could never worry about not having enough to do here, the worry is only having enough time to do it all!
5. The Family Fun.
It’s rare to find a remote tropical island with such a vast array of accommodation options and activities to suit all ages and group sizes than Anantara. Sleeping up to 12 people, the four-bedroom residence is ideal for multi-generational holidays or big celebrations. On top of the enormous abundance of activities we’ve already mentioned, the kids club opens daily for those between 3-11yrs and programmes can be individually tailored by villa hosts and the experience team.
6. The Wellness.
Join Chef Eric for a Raw Spoons cookery class and learn how to add a touch of Ayurveda into your diet at Anantara. With a focus on holistic therapy and a vegan lifestyle you are sure to #gettheglow. Beyond the kitchen, enjoy meditation, yoga and Pilates or check into the sumptuous overwater spa – complete with 6 treatment rooms and a unique collection of therapies, our favourites being the ‘Essence of Kihavah Signature Experience’ and the ‘Slumber Guru’ – an in-villa ritual designed to set you up for an excellent nights sleep.
