‘’It was the wonderfully friendly people and fascinating culture that made my trip to Vanuatu so special. I spent some time on the island of Efate, home to the small harbourside capital of Port Vila, beaches, some great restaurants and idyllic waterfalls with natural swimming holes. But for me, a visit to the island of Tanna (an hour’s flight south of Efate) was the real highlight and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Vanuatu. Accommodation is simple yet comfortable and characterful – but it is visiting the traditional villages which live totally traditionally, quite untouched from today’s world, which make this such a memorable place, not to mention an evening visit to the very active Mt Yasur volcano for an amazing natural firework display, superb snorkelling and the wild horses that roam the plains… Tanna truly felt like nowhere else on earth and I would highly recommend it to those looking for an ‘off the beaten track’ holiday.’’
