One of our sales consultants, Lara went on a trip to The Maldives.

Cocoa Island was the smallest Island that I visited and literally takes minutes to walk around. It was beautiful; it had the bluest and clearest of waters I have ever seen with the whitest and sandiest beaches I have ever walked on. It is designed for those seeking an easy going, foot in the sand, getaway experience.

All of the accommodation is over water and your rooms are in the shape of Dhoni boats.

Huvafen Fushi, was amazing! This is a very high end hotel, set within its own lagoon and definitely offers the wow factor. It boasts a huge reception area in the shape of a manta ray, and lovely big seats in the bar area by the pool. So you can sit around the peaceful poolside in the evenings sipping on a scrummy cocktail.

I went to The Maldives at the end of January this year so it was their peak season. The weather was beautiful, really nice and sunny everyday and hot but with a nice breeze.

I can not pin point a high light as there were so many experiences that amazed me every day. One of the best was the snorkelling at Cocoa Island. As all of the rooms are overwater you can just plop yourself in to the ocean from your room and snorkel around your villa, the fish and sea life are out of this world – we swam with rays, surgeonfish, tuna and various other colourful sea creatures.

The pool at Huvafen Fushi is out of this world; it has tiny lights glistening at the bottom of it so that in the evening they look like stars shining through the water; very magical!

The spa at Huvafen Fushi is the worlds first under water spa. Whilst I was out there I chatted to a guest who saw dolphins swimming past as they had a massage – I couldn’t believe it. The Spa has a huge variety of spa treatments in which you can indulge yourself and completely relax.

The marine biologist feeds sting rays on the beach every night which is a fantastic sight. I also went on a Dhoni Boat sunset cruise which is very romantic.

These two Islands really compliment each other, they are perfect for honeymoon couples or a holiday treat. I would highly recommend travelling to The Maldives and staying at two resorts to benefit from the full beauty that the destination has to offer.
