The Islands of Tahiti are the spiritual home of The Turquoise Holiday Company. When we started, twenty years ago, this was the destination that put us on the map… and talking of maps, The Islands of Tahiti take up a lot of space on one! Five archipelagos scattered over two million square miles – that’s the size of Europe! This tiny ocean country really is one of the most exclusive and stunningly beautiful destinations in the world. The Islands of Tahiti have less visitors in a year than Hawaii has in a week, and the average Las Vegas hotel has more rooms than in all her 118 islands!
We would love to be your friend and guide to this truly awe-inspiring island hopping destination. Everyone has heard of Bora Bora and you can’t not visit this legendary island, but make sure you see some of the other islands too – you will not regret it! We aim to tell you everything from where to stay, what to do, which side of the inter-island plane to sit on for the best view and even which ear to place your traditional Tiare flower behind – this is important as it denotes your marital status! We are sure you will fall in love with The Islands of Tahiti as we did twenty years ago.
Island Hopping Around the Islands of Tahiti
This ten-night journey starts on Moorea, staying at the stunning Hilton Moorea in a Deluxe Garden Bungalow. Next, you’ll experience the peace and paradise of Le Taha’a by Pearl Resorts, in an Overwater Suite. Your final stop will be at the Four Seasons Bora Bora in an Overwater Bungalow Suite.
10 nights from £5,995 per person, including international flights, domestic flights and all transfers.
The Aranui Cruise
The Aranui offers one of the most unique journeys in the world! Known as the ‘Freighter to Paradise’, this part cruise ship part freighter takes you on an unforgettable journey of discovery to the remote and far-flung Marquesas Islands. Be immersed in Marquesan culture whilst the crew unload sugar, cement and livestock enroute – a fittingly nostalgic way to visit Paul Gauguin’s spiritual Eden.
Tuamotu Islands
In contrast to the mountainous Society Islands, the Tuamotus are an exquisite string of low-lying coral islets, with the South Pacific Ocean on one side and sheltered lagoon waters on the other. The lagoons are teeming with underwater life and on the largest atoll, Rangiroa (meaning huge sky), you can spot dolphins jumping in the waves as the tide changes. Enjoy catch of the day cooked with lime juice and coconut paired with the world’s only wine grown on a coral atoll!
Bora Bora
The most famous island outpost in The Islands of Tahiti is legendary Bora Bora, Polynesia’s leading lady. Her allure is so mesmerising, the Tahitians named her twice! Guarded by the deep green summit of majestic Mount Otemanu and surrounded by a dazzling turquoise lagoon, you will be spellbound from the moment you land. Little wonder why our very own Captain Cook named her the ‘Pearl of the Pacific’. Once seen, never forgotten – this is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful islands in the world.
