The Turquoise Team have learnt of a fantastic non-profit making organisation working in Bali helping local people to improve their living conditions long-term by providing water catchment systems. They do so by organising a trek into the remote mountain villages of Muntigunung on the slopes of holy mountain of Gunung Agung in northern Bali. This is an excellent guided four hour walk taking in breathtaking views of the mountains and the coast whilst providing the opportunity to learn about the sustainable development of poor rural villages as well as meeting the local people. Accompanied by an experienced local guide and some villagers, the trek begins at the lakeside village of Songan, then passes through wild vegetation to villages nestled along the hillside before reaching the summit. The route then descends to the coast, for a well deserved and relaxing lunch on the beach! A great day out and all for a good cause!!
