Winter in England so I thought a nice trip away would do the world of good…. Oh it did!!
I went to The Cayman Islands. On my travels I visited Grand Cayman and Little Cayman, two islands so far apart in there ways but so similar in their beauty.
Grand Cayman, being the capital of The Cayman islands is very hip and happening and has bundles of Caribbean character. There’s loads to do here, lots of lovely restaurants providing many options of food from Michelin Star to local Caribbean food creating a great lively atmosphere. There’s loads of activities to do in Gran Cayman and you can hire a car and explore the Islands beauty.
Grand Cayman is great for couples and families, it’s a very safe area with a vibrant feel. Good for first time carabineers who want lots of different eating out options. This is excellent for people that love exploring and learning about the different cultures this fabulous Island has to offer.
Little Cayman is slightly different on the other hand. It’s a very small island with only approximately 200 people on so it gives you a warm and welcoming feel when you arrive. It has a very tranquil and quiet atmosphere, great for people who have come to relax, escape and shut the world and its worries away.
The Island is very traditional- traditional accommodation, no tall buildings, one supermarket, hardly any cars and can you believe it no body wears shoes!!
Little Cayman attracts mainly honeymooners and couples who do not really want to do anything but laze around and enjoy the beauty. Little Cayman is also a great Island for Diving lovers! It is one of the best places to dive in the Caribbean.
The weather was beautiful, the best time to go is during our winter, hot and sunny with no rain; great to escape the cold months!
My highlight of the trip was taking a helicopter ride over Grand Cayman, A birds eye view is a great way to see the Island and a brilliant day trip out.
Feeding the Sting ray also came at the top of my experiences, such amazing creatures an opportunity I may never have again.
I had an authentic Caribbean BBQ under the stars on the beach, sooo romantic just heavenly, I want to eat like that every night!!
The two Islands work perfectly together if you go to both in one trip as they compliment each other. I would definitely recommend this trip to any one as you can spend say 8 nights in Grand Cayman and 2/3 nights in Little Cayman so you get the best of both worlds enjoying vibrant, energetic and amazing holiday with a peaceful, traditional and beach bound holiday a true dream come true.
