When our clients are planning a luxury holiday or your honeymoon, they very often request to go somewhere new, somewhere they’ve never been before, to experience a completely new culture and lifestyle for the first time in the company of their brand new spouse. At the same time, relaxation is key for that period immediately after a wedding; as weddings get bigger and bolder, many couples really need a break after the stress of the big day. With this in mind, we’ve put together our newest twin centre offering – India and the Maldives.
India is a new destination for Turquoise, but one we’re very excited about expanding into. There is so much to see and do in India, and much of it is perfectly designed for romance. There’s no way you’ll want to go there without visiting some of the landmarks – the Taj Mahal is one. What is more romantic than a gorgeous palace built by Emperor Shah Jahan for the wife he adored above all? While in Agra, you can stay at the Oberoi Amarvilas Agra, right next door to the gorgeous monument, and ranked second best resort in all of Asia (fifth in the world). Like the other Oberoi resorts, it has a relaxing spa, sumptuous atmosphere, and top notch service.
You might also choose to indulge in a tiger safari at the Ranthambore Game Reserve as well, if your visit is between October and June. Not only is it full of exotic wildlife, the Park is also a famous heritage site because it has a number of pictorial ruins from a variety of different periods in Indian history. From the safety of your jeep, you’ll witness the majestic tigers going about their daily lives on the reserve, a thrilling sight that will definitely appeal to safari-goers and nature lovers.
The Maldives is a worthy honeymoon destination in its own right, of course, with absolutely stunning beaches, islands, and blue lagoons. If you’re looking for relaxation, the Maldives is certainly the place to do it, with a huge variety of resorts designed to cater to your each and every need. All you’ll need to do is lift your glass of champagne as you relax in a hammock in the sun; if you’re looking for more activity, many resorts offer scuba diving, snorkelling, fishing, or sailing.
For the ultimate in luxury, indulge with an overwater bungalow – all you’ll have to do is step off your deck to land in the ocean. If you’d rather feel sand beneath your toes, there are many spacious villas available, even some on their own private islands. The weather is mostly dry year-round, with a few more showers in our summer months – still, we’ve sent many clients off to happy honeymoons in the middle of July, so don’t let the off season scare you away.
