In the Maldives, we’re blessed with plenty of options when it comes to luxury island retreats. Across a series of blogs, we’ve handpicked some of our far-flung favourites so you can get a flavour of what each of these beautiful boltholes has to offer in terms of its whereabouts, food, accommodation and unique experiences. It’s the turn of eco-conscious Anantara Kihavah Villas…
Location, location, location
On its own idyllic island in the UNESCO-protected Baa Atoll, Anantara Kihavah Villas’ location just pops with colour: the emerald leaves of the palm trees, the milky white sands the beryl-turquoise lagoon and the sapphire Indian Ocean beyond. Being only a half-hour seaplane hop away, this vibrant paradise isn’t far from Malé.
Food for thought
Branching off from the island’s southern tip is the resort’s four-in-one dining concept SEA.FIRE.SPICE.SKY, all of which offer something different. There’s underwater fine-dining (SEA), a teppanyaki grill (FIRE), overwater Asian cuisine (SPICE) and sunset cocktails (SKY). The beachfront Plates and poolside Manzaru are more relaxed options.
A good night’s sleep
Anantara Kihavah Villas has great variety in its accommodation options, from beach villas enveloped by lush foliage to family overwater villas perfectly placed for you all to watch the sunset together. What doesn’t change is the fact they all have their own private pools and are furnished and kitted out to the highest standards.
Fun fact
To keep the pristine nature of the island intact, not one tree has been moved to accommodate the resort.
Our Turquoise tip
Stay for a while after your sunset cocktail at SKY to stargaze through the Maldives’ most powerful telescope. An expert is on hand to describe exactly what you’re seeing, too!
