Location, location, location
It’s hard to believe Baros is only a 25-minute speedboat ride from Malé, such is its tiny size and Bounty bar advert aura. With beaches as white and soft as cotton and a coral reef so ridiculously colourful you’ll think it was Photoshopped, it’s like you’re staying somewhere only seen on a postcard.
Food for thought
With three restaurants and two bars all serving high-quality food, there are plenty of culinary options at Baros. You can see rays and sharks while you eat at Baros’ signature overwater restaurant The Lighthouse, dine with a sunset backdrop at Lime and Cayenne Grill’s menu is influenced by India. Want something more private? Then have a meal for two on a remote piano deck or slender sandbank.
A good night’s sleep
Despite the island’s size, each of Baros’ villas, whether fringed by jungle or hanging over the water, offer a surprising high level of privacy. If you’re staying on the island, you’ll be enveloped by lush vegetation and open out onto picture-perfect sands, while many of the overwater villas come with their own pool and are angled for the ideal sunset.

Baros was one of the first luxury resorts in the Indian Ocean with a focus on diving. Its incredible house reef still delivers – and then some – with kaleidoscopic coral teeming with turtles, tropical fish and rays. An impressive coral regeneration programme means Baros is keen to protect its marine beauty.
