In the Maldives, we’re blessed with plenty of options when it comes to luxury island retreats. Location, location, location
A 30-minute seaplane flight from Malé, Constance Moofushi is a tiny emerald dot in the South Ari Atoll, one of the world’s best dive sites. Its dazzling white sands are lapped by crystal-clear waters which harbour not only tropical fish-filled reefs but also celebrities of the underwater world: manta rays, whale sharks and turtles.
Food for thought
With its sandy carpet, main restaurant Manta is blissful barefoot dining. It mixes up its themes each evening for exciting variety – think Mexican-inspired menus on Mondays and Mediterranean dishes on Thursdays. On-the-beach Alizée is smaller and more intimate, while the driftwood tones of Totem bar feels like somewhere you’d catch Robinson Crusoe enjoying a cocktail.
A good night’s sleep
Sometimes, less is more and that’s certainly the case with the villas at Constance Moofushi. Natural, stylish and with delicate features inspired by shells or the waves, it’s like you’re staying in a beachcomber’s home. Both beach and water villas are available, so you can either step straight out onto powder-soft sands or into the glittering lagoon.
