My love of travelling the world began at the age of 8 when I took my first long haul flight to Florida. I loved everything that the Sunshine State had to offer, especially Disney World! Ever since then, the appeal of getting on a plane and heading somewhere new and exciting has stayed with me. After leaving University, I worked and travelled my way around Australia and New Zealand for two years, experiencing so many of the amazing sights and activities that these two wonderful countries have to offer. One place I was drawn back to time and again was Queenstown in New Zealand’s stunning South Island. This little town has something for everyone – from adrenaline activities to great bars and restaurants and from fabulous wineries to scenery that will stay with you forever. My other adventures have included an epic journey on the Trans-Siberian Railway from Moscow to Beijing; a four-month odyssey through South America; a ‘Thelma & Louise’ drive across the USA; getting up close and personal with wild animals on an African safari; spotting leopards in Sri Lanka; braving the trains in Rajasthan; driving along South Africa’s infamous Garden Route; discovering the delights of many European cities (my new favourite has to be Lisbon!) and feeling the sand between my toes on the glorious beaches of the Seychelles, the Maldives, Mauritius, the Cook Islands, Tahiti and Fiji (with a marriage proposal thrown in, and accepted!) Now, with two young children, my more intrepid travelling days are on hold as we spend time enjoying holidays as a family. Next stop, Six Senses Laamu!
