Africa
The Greenhouse at Babylonstoren, South Africa
‘This is the epitome of farmhouse chic. It’s a working farm and vineyard and it’s a truly great spot for lunch while staying in the Winelands! It’s all about the organic food, freshly grown in the garden (the menu reflects the seasons), artisanal breads (you can opt to bake bread with the baker in the morning), handcrafted cheeses, homemade herb oils, chutneys, relishes, the list goes on! This is all served with incredibly tasty and healthy juices labelled by colour. Yellow combines carrot, ginger, pineapple, melon, orange whilst Red mixes beetroot, red apple, watermelon and plums. The ethos is farm-to-fork and the style is a subtle blend of rustic and contemporary. I love the fact that the food comes to your table served in small wooden crates, with salads in jars and fresh bread from the wood-fired oven wrapped in Babylonstoren paper.’’– Sue Bell, Product Director
