While we’re isolating during the Coronavirus epidemic, it’s still important to stay healthy. The daily exercise, whether it’s a walk, run or simply the fresh air, helps to revitalise our mental and physical well-being but you can get creative indoors, too. This super smoothie recipe from our friends at Six Senses Hotels, Resorts & Spas will not only taste great but make you feel good as well.

Super Immune Smoothie

Serves 2

Ingredients

200g (two cups) spinach
120g (one whole) banana
245g (one cup) frozen pineapple
1 knob of fresh ginger, peeled (about two inches ginger)
1 knob of turmeric root (about two inches turmeric), scrubbed well – substitute ½ tsp powder if root not available
1/8 teaspoon black peppercorn (a pinch)
150 ml (1/2 cup) unsweetened plant milk (e.g. coconut, pumpkin seed)

Optional – Super Boosters
ADD one tsp of any of the following:
Ashwaganda powder
Astragalus powder
Moringa powder

Method

  1. Place all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth.
  2. Serve chilled.
  3. Enjoy!

Recipe notes:
Add ½ Tbsp raw honey if needed (depending on sweetness of banana -or freeze banana for natural sweetness)
