Read how two of our clients got on when they stayed in The Maldives for their honeymoon.
We chose to stay at Baros, Maldives after much consideration and we were not to be disappointed. Baros is the ultimate honeymoon destination for anyone seeking a relaxing and romantic break (and relatively good value in Maldivian terms!). With the help of Karen, we chose to book one week in a Baros Villa and the second in a Water Villa and were delighted on arrival to find that we had been upgraded to one of the new Pool Villas (209) for our first week.
The villa was beautifully maintained with an outdoor bathroom, L’Occcitane products and a secluded sun deck with plunge pool and fatboys just hidden from the beach. We had a look around a number of the villas and didn’t feel that any matched ours for privacy or location. Our second week in the Water Villa (314) was also fantastic and quite an experience during the tropical storms which do occur at this change of season.
One of the highlights for us was the diving. Baros boasts an amazing house reef which encircles the island. Even snorkelling we saw sharks, turtles and eagle rays. Our favourite dive was with Miki to Manta Point where we saw so many Mantas and Mobula rays that we lost count – an amazing experience. We also had a private sunset sail on the traditional Dhoni complete with Champagne and Canapes which was a lovely end to our holiday.
The staff at Baros were amazingly friendly and helpful at all times. This group have got service to perfection – attentive yet not overwhelming. The personal touches made our stay. We were always addressed by name, right from stepping off the boat and Julia and her front of house team were always happy to help. Thank you to everyone at Turquoise for a wonderful honeymoon.
