All proceeds from these private guest flights go to the Big Life Foundation, a conservation charity created to protect Africa’s wildlife against poaching. A scenic flight over Mt. Kilimanjaro with the lodge’s founder makes for one of the most truly memorable experiences in Africa. Most suites at Ol Donyo lodge have a private pool, an element available very rarely in a safari lodge. Horse riding excursions are highly encouraged – galloping amongst giraffe and zebra is a special experience very few forget, as is mountain biking across the plains (also on offer from Ol Donyo). Lodge guests can track lions with the ‘Lion Guardians’ who play an extremely important part of the lion conservation scheme in the Chyulu Hills. The Lion Guardians are a group of Masai tribes people who protect the lions and educate people in the local villages. Ol Donyo guests find this an incredibly rewarding experience and we have had some wonderful feedback from clients who have participated during their stay.

We highly recommend combining Ol Donyo Lodge as part of a longer itinerary and most people fly from Kenya to the neighbouring island of Zanzibar for a well earnt week on the beach to dust down those tired safari legs.
