Kenya has some of the best game viewing in Africa. Attractions like the Masai Mara and Laikipia give it the fame it deserves and quite rightly, too. The Masai Mara, over 1,000 sq miles of world famous national park, contains Africa’s largest population of lion in addition to large quantities of elephant, rhino, leopard and buffalo which make up the Big Five. It is also the end point of what is generally regarded as one of the world’s most fabulous wildlife spectacles – the annual migration of over 1.5 million wildebeest and zebras from the Serengeti plains to the lush grasslands of the Mara, which usually takes place between June and September.

Kenya, like Tanzania, is perfectly located for a beach add-on at the end of your safari – the perfect finish to your trip. You can choose between the Kenyan coastline, the Tanzanian coastline and Zanzibar. Zanzibar’s clear waters and pristine white sandy beaches are the perfect place to unwind on your luxury honeymoon after a safari. It seems only natural that once the safari dust has settled, you should head to the relaxing soft white sands of the romantic Swahili coast or the spice islands of Pemba and Mafia.

Wildlife viewing is excellent between July and October. This is the dry season, which is the best time of year to visit Kenya. The game viewing is rife, the scenery is stunning and the atmosphere is exciting. It is also a very good time to visit the coast – it is at its peak this time of year, which works perfectly for summer honeymooners!
