Gibbs Farm, Tanzania

Gibbs Farm is a hotel that offers peace, tranquillity and a return to a different way of life! The guests are actively encouraged to become at one with their surroundings and emerge themselves into the ‘rhythm of the farm’. It’s something that’s taken quite seriously at Gibbs. You can wake up early to go and milk the cattle, then make your way to the kitchen to make bread with the local chefs. It’s an altogether rewarding experience.

It’s located in the Karatu area of northern Tanzania, up in the Ngorongoro highlands with easy access to safari and the conservation area. As well as being about an hours drive to Lake Manyara’s airstrip. The farm was built as a coffee plantation by German settlers before it passed into British hands after the war, and it has been welcoming guests ever since.
