- Flores and Komodo Islands
Holidays in Flores and Komodo Islands
An extension to Komodo is well worth the journey for untouched islands, wonderful snorkelling and diving and of course seeing the magnificent Komodo dragons. Access is via a direct flight from Bali to Labuan Bajo on the island of Flores, where on arrival you will be met and transferred either to a coastal resort, from which you can take a day cruise to the islands, or our preferred experience is a two or three night live aboard yacht.
The charm of these islands lies in the undeveloped land, void of even a port with passengers taken only by small boats to the island’s only village. On your cruise you’ll stop of on remote beaches, see contrasting landscapes, and snorkel on pristine reefs. On Komodo Island itself it is estimated that there are over 2,000 dragons, as well as a variety of other wildlife such as wild boar, deer and buffalo. Once on the island you will walk to the best places to spot Komodo dragons in their natural habitat – don’t worry you don’t get too close!
