Tucked into the Menoreh Hills facing the Kedu Plains with clear views to Borobudur Temple, Amanjiwo is a serene retreat from which to explore this region of Central Java. Perched on a hilltop in the highlands of Bromo, Plataran is perfectly situated to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. Guests flock here for the incredible sunrise views of the majestic and barren volcanic landscape in this area of East Java. It’s a long journey and requires an early start, but it is well worth it! The resort itself offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and is approximately a 30-minute drive from Mount Penanjakan. From there, it takes about an hour to hike to the vantage point where you can watch the sun rise magnificently over Mount Bromo. For longer stays, guests can enjoy a jeep safari, horseback riding, a day as a farmer, or a cooking class.
