Plataran Bromo, Indonesia
Perched on a hilltop in the highlands of Bromo, Plataran is perfectly situated to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. Guests flock here for the incredible sunrise views of the majestic and barren volcanic landscape in this area of East Java. It’s a long journey and requires an early start, but it is well worth it! The resort itself offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and is approximately a 30-minute drive from Mount Penanjakan. From there, it takes about an hour to hike to the vantage point where you can watch the sun rise magnificently over Mount Bromo. For longer stays, guests can enjoy a jeep safari, horseback riding, a day as a farmer, or a cooking class.
Plataran Bromo
Fourteen elegant suites boast floor-to-ceiling windows, capturing sublime views. Free-flowing spaces are adorned with modern amenities but decorated with ornate wooden furnishings, a nod to traditional Javanese heritage. Premier Suites have a small living space, while Platinum Suites offer separate living or workspaces. Adjacent to the suites, the Plataran Bromo House Resort offers larger villas with two to four bedrooms and shared living spaces.
During the daytime, enjoy views of the surrounding hills from Teras Restaurant, which serves delicious Indonesian-Asian comfort food made with the freshest local ingredients. The main dining room, Syailendra, offers international, pan-Asian, and Indonesian dishes. It is perched high in the hills, with a lofty space built to resemble an alpine lodge, featuring rustic bare brickwork, elegant wooden furnishings, and cozy spaces. Relax with a pre-dinner aperitif or nightcap at Mahameru Bar & Lounge, the perfect place to unwind after a long journey or a busy day exploring.
