Borneo
For those with a real sense of adventure, Borneo has it in bucket loads. The world’s third largest island is divided between Malaysia, Indonesia, and Brunei (the Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak lying to the north). The laid-back little city of Kota Kinabalu (KK for short) is the starting point for any wildlife adventure in Sabah – it is also the capital. A few days here are the perfect antidote to your long journey before heading over to one of the islands or deep into the jungle.
East Coast Malaysia
Malaysia's East Coast is a world away from the popular West Coast. Quiet, unspoiled and relatively untouched, the coastline is interrupted only by the occasional traditional Malay fishing village.
Kuala Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur is the very epitome of a multicultural, modern, Asian city. With three very distinct cultures, the city has a cosmopolitan, peaceful and unique feel.
Langkawi & The West Coast
Malaysia as a beach destination was etched onto the luxury map by the island of Langkawi, or more accurately the Datai and Four Seasons. Today these 99 magical islets off the western coast remain a favourite for travellers seeking beach-bliss, remote adventure and five-star trimmings. Emerald-green jungle tumbles down to sugar-white sand, mangroves bridge sea and land, huge limestone caves swallow you up, secluded coves lie in wait and a technicolour underwater world thrives beneath.
Penang
Penang is one of Malaysia’s most famous destinations and offers a wealth of attractions for travellers. This large island is located off the West coast of Malaysia, linked to the mainland buy an 8 mile long bridge, in the Straits of Malacca.
The Cameron Highlands
With rolling, lush green hills and the highest altitudes on Peninsula Malaysia, the Cameron Highlands offer a pleasant escape from the hustle and bustle of busy KL or from the heat of the lowlands. The highlands here boast some of Malaysia’s most beautiful natural scenery, with picturesque waterfalls, verdant valleys and mountain views.
