Tucked behind a long stretch of beach with a sandbar reaching into the turquoise waters of Bacuit Bay, you are surrounded by the most jaw dropping limestone scenery, jungle clad karsts of rock jutting out of the ocean in a formation of hundreds of islands with secluded bays and lagoons to discover right on your doorstep. El Nido Resorts - Pangulasian Island
Access to Pangulasian Island is by a 55 minute light aircraft flight from either Manila or Cebu followed by a 25-minute scenic boat ride to the resort. Pangulasian Island has been designed to blend with the natural environment using local timbers and natural stone. Contemporary style Canopy Villas are built on stilts and surrounded by the rainforest canopy and in front of these, the Beach Villas have their own beach access. At the end of the beach are the Pool Villas, without beach access, but overlooking the ocean with magnificent views. The four Kalaw Villas are a collection of Villas surrounding a huge pool and ideal for larger families or groups travelling together.
The resorts’ main restaurant, Amianan, serves up international and traditional Filipino dishes with wonderful views in all directions. The Poolside bar and restaurant is located right on the beach next to the exquisite infinity pool. Private dinners and remote beach picnics can also be arranged. The heavenly spa offers a range of treatments, perfect to unwind after a busy day exploring this stunning region.
Your stay at the resort includes daily activities, usually involving a trip on an outrigger style boat to explore the many hidden coves, lagoons and beaches of the bay, snorkel over some of the most pristine reefs or even try your hand at scuba diving, which is also offered by the resort (at an extra cost). A typical day might involve a sunrise hike to the viewing deck followed by guided snorkelling at the house reef, join a lagoons tour and then head back to the resort for a relaxing lunch. In the afternoon go island hopping – or if it all sounds too much you could simply lie by the pool and enjoy the view!
