The St. Regis Bermuda

The St. Regis Bermuda is a lucky girl to escape the Bermudian planning laws – although hardly high rise, and she does nod to the local architecture, it’s the unique setting which raised eyebrows. You’ll find total oceanfront views over the most to-die-for beach at The St. Regis. And being flanked by historic fort St. George’s guns facing out onto the next land fall – Europe – gives the hotel an element of old-world charm.

On your arrival, the view of the beach, sea and sky is uninterrupted with floor to ceiling windows letting light and every hue of blue flood the hotel. The public spaces are cool and minimalist, and huge, fabulous works of art adorn the walls. Vivid pinks, tropical greens, and luminous blues depicting local scenes give colour and originality to the hotel. The St. Regis is only one hundred and twenty rooms and suites, and we strongly recommend the Grand Luxe Oceanfront room – you will not regret it! As you enter your room from the bathroom, which seems odd and then perfectly logical at the same time, the beautifully sculptured oval bath faces out to St Catherine’s beach and the sea beyond. Its large enough for two and the best spot to soak away the heat of the day with convenient shelves to place your glass of dark and stormy, and your book of shipwrecks as you watch the picture-perfect sky and sea.

Eat

Mirroring the history of the location, Lina offers a timeless and elegant atmosphere for breakfast and lunch. For dinner, BLT Steak NY is the place to be – signature blackboards present this restaurant’s tantalising culinary offering including the finest cuts of beef for a contemporary steakhouse experience.

A stunning mural in a palate of greens and blues looks over the fabulous and iconic oceanfront St. Regis Bar. You can’t visit without sampling their famous Gates Bay Mary.

Play & Pamper

The hotel comes equipped with a fiendishly difficult, if short, golf course where you might need a few extra balls as many of the holes run close to the sea.

A brilliant Kids Club and Spa offer a little something for everyone. And the first capital of Bermuda, St. George’s, is close by and well worth a wander. For lunch, try Wahoo’s – the rockfish fillet is delicious! Before lunch, stroll along Front Street to the English Sports Shop for a pair of Bermudian shorts in shocking pink or our favourite island Turquoise… after lunch you might need a larger size!
