We also love Tribal – a campfire beachside inspired dining venue offering gourmet grill delights. Miami meets the Mediterranean at Blu which offers relaxed family-style beachfront dining while the poolside ice cream parlour is packed with homemade treats including smoothies, sherbert and crepes.

Nest's innovative multi-level jungle treehouse-design restaurant is a one-of-a-kind dining concept for the Maldives. Nestled amongst the Banyan trees, Nest plays host to a gourmet wonderland of Asian specialities, served in spectacular settings from private dining pods suspended six metres above the ground to domed pavilions burrowed amongst the trees, all linked by wooden walkways. The Vibe

Niyama offers a cool and contemporary vibe. If you love modern and contemporary designs with all the mod cons and gadgets you will LOVE Niyama. Each villa is spacious and fresh and comes with luxury amenities and accessories like your very own Ipad, L’Occitane products in the bathroom and complimentary ice cream in your mini bar! All bathrooms are fitted not only with waterfall showers, but the biggest baths I’ve ever seen!

Although the Maldives is the best place to go to completely relax and indulge in a good book, for those who think they will get itchy feet, there is plenty to do. Head to Drift Spa and book a couples spa package and enjoy a few hours in your very own luxurious sanctuary and then after your treatments you can relax in your own garden with pool and showers. Bliss! Romantic dining is always a must on your honeymoon and with 12 bars and restaurants there are so many options. I recommend heading to ‘Edge’ their overwater restaurant which is on a separate island only accessible by a 5 minute boat ride. Offering a romantic and a once in a life time dining experience. it’s the perfect setting for a fine dining restaurant in the middle of the ocean. You can also dine on the island just the two of you with a romantic set up on the beach or on your very own sand back.

Explorers Kids Clubs

Niyama is the only resort in the Maldives offering a club for children under three years old.
With four age specific programmes, kids of all ages will have endless fun. From just 12 months old to 12 years old children can take part in indoor and outdoor activities.
There is a trampoline in the garden, a splash park, Munch – children’s dining and master chef classes, a nap room and activities tailored to specific age groups. Kids can also take part in activities like kayaking, snorkelling safaris, dolphin spotting and crazy crab soccer! On Saturdays, kids can participate in their own fashion show with clothing provided by Paul Ropp. Kids eat lunch for free at Blue and enjoy snacks throughout the day.

In Villa Fun

Turquoise loves Niyama’s treats in the rooms – high-tech toys such as an Ipad, the InnSpire TV system for kids and Niyama’s unique take on a minibar – ‘Deli-In’ – a fridge brimming with gourmet drinks and treats including complimentary ice cream. Float is Niyama’s water sports centre, they have a wealth of activities dedicated for the younger guests who love the water. • Niyama Private Islands resort is located in the south-western atoll of Dhaalu. There are different ways to get to the resort including a shared seaplane transfer, domestic transfer, or by a VIP chartered flight. 
• The resort consists of 2 islands connected by a small bridge. You can travel between the islands by bike which are available to rent at the resort. 

• Underwater Nightlife - dive into an evening of dancing at Subsix, the resort's exclusive underwater club and restaurant. Located 20 feet beneath the Indian Ocean, this venue hosts DJs and weekly glow parties for an unforgettable experience. 
• Water Sports - experience the thrill of Vodi, the resort's exclusive onsite wave, making it one of the few destinations in the Maldives to offer surfing. 
• Cultural Sightseeing - immerse yourself in the Maldives' rich history by visiting traditional Buddhist and Islamic landmarks, such as Kudahuvadhoo. This ancient Havitta is thought to be the remnants of a historic Buddhist temple, providing a glimpse into the island's cultural past. 

Something very unique to the Maldives is having a surf spot nearby, however Niyama is one step better by being the only island in the Maldives to have its own surf break directly from the beach. Vodi is the name of the house wave that is located directly from Play island making it accessible for all guests of all abilities. Perfect for beginners with smaller waves but at high tide the waves can be bigger and fuller making it an intermediate to advance surf. For a change of scenery guests can head out by a short 5 minute dhoni boat to Kasabu, offering a barrel and cutbacks or for the advanced surfers you can have fun at Hocus Pocus.

Professional surfers from around the world come to Niyama for the surf action as well as professional photographers and surf gurus so guests can experience a world class level of coaching and expertise. If you are an experienced surfer or a keen beginner there is a wave spot for everyone with all abilities and instructors on hand to help and guide you. After your adrenalin rush, head back to shore where you can chill out at the Surf Shack for something to eat whilst watching the waves and fellow surfers with a refreshing drink in your hand.

Niyama doesn’t offer all-inclusive but it does have a dine around half board or full board option where guests can dine at a choice of restaurants around the island. There is also a drinks package which you can add on to your meal plan giving the feel of an all-inclusive hotel.

Niyama Private Islands is located in the Dhaalu Atoll, accessible by a scenic 45 minute seaplane transfer from Male airport.

Niyama doesn’t have a direct house reef, however they do offer daily boat trips out to the near by reef where you can swim with Turtles, a huge variety of tropical fish and could be lucky to spot rays.

Niyama isn’t just a stunning, remote island in the Maldives, it also boasts a selection of unique features giving all other islands a run for their money.
