Why House

With just 10 unique rooms and cabanas, all with private terraces, the Why House is surrounded by beautiful gardens, fruit and spice trees, where no request is too small. Split between the ‘main house’ and outer buildings, each room is slightly different to the next. The main house is great for families wanting to be close to one another, with rooms accommodating a family of four and inter-connecting options, or if you are looking for a more romantic setting, the Cabanas are beautifully set amongst the lush lower gardens with paddy views, each offering complimentary wi-fi, aircon and a mini fridge.
Why House can also be booked for sole use – a fantastic spot for a group to celebrate a big birthday or an anniversary in style!

Serving ‘family style’ when possible, with daily fresh produce, their friendly staff serve up a delicious selection of Sri Lankan treats, western favourites and Asian delights, all enjoyed in a relaxed, open-air restaurant. Their flexible approach to dining means they can accommodate any guests tastes and required mealtimes making it perfect for littles who like to dine a little earlier than the ‘traditional’ restaurant opening times.  

Popular with yogis and artists due to its tropical location tucked away by the paddy fields with a three acre garden, Why House is perfect for those wanting to be a little adventurous as well as simply relaxing by the stunning pool. We also suggest you head out by tuc tuc to visit the local beach just 5 minutes away which is popular for surfers of all abilities and ages or go on a bike ride, visit Buddhist temples, tea & Cinnamon plantations and of course a visit of Galle Fort the UNESCO world heritage site just 15 minutes’ drive away.
