Downtown Dubai

Dubai Downtown offers a great contrast to the Jumeirah Beach area, especially for those that are combining Dubai with another beach location such as the Maldives or Mauritius. It’s located halfway between the airport and the Jumeirah beach area and offers a vibrant hub for your Dubai holiday or stopover. There is a real buzz in the evenings with plenty of restaurants within walking distance of our favourite downtown hotels. The Dubai Fountains, created by the same designer as those in Las Vegas, are set to music and lights and at 140 metres tall are visually impressive, with evening shows starting every 30 minutes (from 18:00 to 23:00). For those with a head for heights, get the best views up the 148-storey Burj Khalifa. If you want to avoid the queues, book ahead a table at the 123rd floor At.mosphere bar where you can enjoy a drink whilst you take in the incredible views. The Dubai Mall is the world’s largest mall and with over 1,200 outlets, it’s a must for shopaholics.
