Lakaz Chamarel Resort, Mauritius

Scattered around the main building are 20 rooms and suites each with a different design and decoration making them all unique to each other but all representing different cultures of the island.

Rooms are rustic in style designed with terracotta, slate, and wood throughout. Their Suites are charming smaller rooms with a terrace overlooking the swimming pool. We always recommend upgrading to a pool of your own; the Garden Pool Suites are set within the tropical gardens and are much larger in space. For the ultimate in luxury, we recommend the Sea View Pool Suites where you will have the most amazing views and privacy.

Meals are served in the Dining Room which spills out to the terraces surrounded by tropical gardens. Breakfast is a full affair with hot and cold buffet choices and a la carte menu. Late risers can also enjoy a ‘late’ continental breakfast – perfect for lazy mornings. Lunch is served a la carte style and showcases their local salads, Mauritian dishes and fresh fish. For dinner there are a number of options from a set menu as well as an a la carte menu. The chef will also recommend various small restaurants to visit in the local village of Lakaz.

Nature and adventure lovers are in their element at Lakaz. Explore peaks, valleys and waterfalls whilst taking hikes and walks around the local mountains. Visit the natural parks of Black River Gorge and Chamarel. Take bicycles and cycle down to the beach but be sure to take a hotel mobile phone so you can call for a lift back up the hill! Visit Chamarel’s coloured earths, Rum Distilleries and local villages. The hotel offers two swimming pools, yoga sessions and in room spa treatments where you can totally relax and unwind.
