For those simply looking for somewhere to rest weary heads for a few hours before an onward journey, opt for one of the two Wallawwa Bedrooms in the main house. Little ones are also welcome at The Wallawwa, and will be more than happy in the spacious family suites, which sleep two adults and two children, plus an infant too if need be.

This is no ordinary ‘airport’ hotel. The hotel's restaurant ‘The Verandah’, offers a mouth watering all day a la carte menu of Asian Fusion and international cuisine. Kids have a menu of their own and the chefs can cater to any dietary requirements or allergies.

If you can peel yourself away from your poolside position or shady reading spot in The Wallawwa gardens, the hotel is brilliantly located for a number of day trips. Colombo city centre is around 30 minutes away, for dining, shopping and visiting some of the many cultural sites. Alternatively, hop in a taxi and head to the beachside town of Negombo for that first or last dip in the Indian Ocean or to experience the sites and smells of the famous Negombo fish market.
