Tetiaroa
This tiny, pristine atoll sits 36 miles north of the island of Tahiti, in the Windward Islands, part of the Society Island archipelago. Only accessible by a 20 minute Air Tetiaroa private flight from Tahiti, Tetiaroa is an idyllic island escape at its best! Just 4.5 miles wide, consisting of 12 motus (islets) and surrounded by a protective coral reef, this enchanted atoll is home to one of French Polynesia's only protected bird sanctuaries as well as an intact and healthy marine environment.
The 12 motus epitomise the quintessential tropical paradise: swaying coconut palms, white-sand beaches and coral reefs brimming with multi-coloured fish.
Tetiaroa has long been a privileged retreat - first for Tahitian royalty, then privately-owned by the late Marlon Brando after he fell in love with this exquisite atoll whilst filming Mutiny on the Bounty in 1962.
