Zazen Boutique Resort & Spa, Koh Samui
Intimate and charming, Zazen is a low-rise resort, located on the lively tropical island of Koh Samui. Situated at the quieter end of Bo Phut beach, we think it has the best location; the beach is relatively quiet but a short stroll along the shore brings you to Fisherman’s Village, with its impressive choice of local restaurants and chilled beach clubs.
Rooms are scattered amongst lush, tropical style gardens with a design echoing a stylish Thai home with warm wooden floors, rustic furnishings and a large veranda. Adjacent to the beachfront pool, the restaurant oozes a cool beach club vibe and is known to be one of the best on the island for its sophisticated and elegant vibe, combined with delicious east-meets-west cuisine.
Zazen Boutique Resort & Spa
With a peaceful location on Bo Phut Beach there are just 26 rooms to choose from. Recently redesigned, the rooms at Zazen blend seamlessly into the natural setting of this gorgeous retreat, featuring cool earthy fabrics and natural wooden floors. Behind the pool and restaurant are the Garden Villas, our favourite, surrounded by spacious gardens, each with large verandas for relaxation. Right on the sand, adjacent to the pool, the Beachfront Suites offer uninterrupted ocean views, creating the ultimate romantic setting. Tucked behind the beach, the slightly more compact Tropical Suites overlook the gardens, with some offering partial sea views.
The elegant Club at Zazen is THE place to be in Samui. Wooden tables, rattan chairs, and a breezy white ceiling decoration create a very natural, local, and relaxed space to enjoy delicious east-meets-west dishes for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Visiting DJs create a chilled Ibiza vibe.
