Ayada Maldives

Located in the untouched Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, one of the most southerly in the Maldives, Ayada sits within 37-acres of private tropical paradise, just a few kilometres north of the equator. Accessed via a domestic flight from Malé and short speedboat transfer, the journey to Ayada is all part of the adventure and worth every minute. From the moment you step off the boat and feel the powder-soft sand beneath your feet, you will be absorbed into Ayada’s ‘no shoes, no news’ way of life. Home to one of the country's best house reefs, teeming with vibrant marine life, for those who love the world beneath the waves, this is one island not to miss.

Sleep

Each of Ayada’s 122 villas and suites offer a blend of contemporary and traditional Maldivian design. The thatched roofs create a barefoot Robinson Crusoe feel, whilst large egg-shaped baths, outdoor rain showers and state-of-the art facilities add that modern touch. For families, we recommend the Beach Villas and Beach Suites, cleverly hidden within the lush flora and fauna which spills on to the sparkling-white sand. Privacy is paramount, with a spacious indoor/outdoor living concept, complete with a pool and daybed. There are interconnecting options available for larger groups and flexibility when it comes to children and adults sharing one room. For couples and families with older children, the stilted Ocean Suites are stunning, each with a private pool, a large outdoor terrace and ocean-view hammock.

Eat

Foodies will adore the abundance of dining options available at Ayada. There are no less than seven different bars and restaurants, plus an extensive in-villa and private dining menu. Magu is the main restaurant where a different theme of buffet is served each night. We love Mizu, the island’s signature Japanese restaurant located right on the beach, under the star-studded sky. Seating only ten people each night, the Mizu experience is highly sought-after, as the team of world-class chefs cook Teppanyaki dishes on live cooking stations in front of their guests. Ile de Joie, an over-water ‘wine island’ is another gourmet journey not to be missed. Enjoy an evening of wine and cheese pairing with one of Ayada’s expert sommeliers.

Play

Ayada is an extremely family friendly island. Activities on offer include tennis, badminton, fishing, diving, snorkelling and surfing, just to name a few! Ayspa is one of the largest wellness centres in the southern Maldivian atolls, with a divine list of sumptuous spa treatments, a traditional Turkish Hammam and 8 treatment villas. The Zuzuu kids club, complete with jungle gym and kiddie pool, accepts children with compliments from four years old and above. Children under four years old must be accompanied by a babysitter.

Surfing

Surfing at Ayada is so much fun and such a great way to keep active whilst on holiday, something we recommend guests of all surfing abilities try!

Ayada Maldives has 8 surfing points. The closest break only is 5 minutes by speed boat and the furthest one is around 50 minutes away. We recommend Two Ways surfing point for beginners or Love Charm or Cast Away for the pro’s!

The best time of year to go surfing is from August to November for consistent and clean waves.

Enjoy wonderful surfing offers.
