Sleep

With Maldivian ambience and modern encounters - Niyama offers fresh, chic accommodation with clean lines and contemporary finesse - suitable for both land lovers and water babies!

The Beach Villas (some with ocean facing plunge pools) have lagoon views from a private sundeck, whilst the garden has an open-air bathtub, rain shower and even a path down to a private waterfall. The Water Villas are perched on the water’s edge and, in addition to your plunge pool, each has steps which descend into the warm lagoon waters.

Deluxe Water Villas with Pools are set overwater and enjoy expansive horizon views. Decadent, relaxed and oozing tropical chic, the Beach, Water and Ocean Pavilions (with one or two bedrooms) are elegant spaces with infinity pools and boast enhanced privacy and on-demand butlers.

More affordable than the Pavilions, the Family Beach Pool Villas offer the best of indoor/outdoor living and are perfect for families or couples - each has a family-sized plunge pool, ocean views from the bed, a separate living area where children can sleep and direct beach access.

The Two Bedroom Beach Pool Pavilion offers the ultimate in luxury living with the added bonus of an in-villa spa. Whichever you choose, all accommodation comes with a state-of-the-art entertainment system, a personal Thakaru (butler service Maldivian style) and Niyama's unique take on a mini-bar - ‘Deli In’ - a fridge brimming with gourmet drinks and treats including complimentary popcorn and ice cream!

Eat

Niyama challenges the conventional with its culinary exhibitionism, leading guests on a gastronomic adventure starting at Epicure for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Built 500 metres offshore, Niyama’s signature restaurant, Edge, is only accessible by boat. For something completely different, head to Subsix, an underwater dining venue and enjoy Champagne breakfasts, subaquatic lunches, weekly glow parties, wine tastings and destination dining.

We also love Tribal – a campfire beachside inspired dining venue offering gourmet grill delights. Miami meets the Mediterranean at Blu which offers relaxed family-style beachfront dining while the poolside ice cream parlour is packed with homemade treats including smoothies, sherbert and crepes.

Nest's innovative multi-level jungle treehouse-design restaurant is a one-of-a-kind dining concept for the Maldives. Nestled amongst the Banyan trees, Nest plays host to a gourmet wonderland of Asian specialities, served in spectacular settings from private dining pods suspended six metres above the ground to domed pavilions burrowed amongst the trees, all linked by wooden walkways. Grab a light lunch at The Deli and build your own ciabatta or choose from jars of tempting treats and tasty sweets to take on the go!

Pamper & Play

There is a stunning infinity pool surrounded by soft sunbeds and for the energetic, FLOAT is the water activities base. Snorkelling, diving, jet-skiing, water-skiing, mono-skiing and wakeboarding are all available and why not try your hand at Seabobbing – think of it as an underwater rocket propelled sea scooter!

For younger guests, Niyama's fabulous Explorers Kids Club, designed for adventurous spirits, runs activities for four different age groups - Globetrotters (12 months - 2 years), Adventurers (3 - 4 years), Voyagers (5 - 7 years) and Pioneers (8 - 12 years) and there are also activities such as beach cricket, tennis and snorkelling safaris for older children.

The edgy Drift Spa is a rejuvenating cocoon offering signature treatments which use local ingredients such as Maldivian coral sand and coconut oil. Try a 45-minute body scrub followed by a relaxing massage - pure Niyama bliss!

Honeymoons

Our very own Indian Ocean Product Manager, Lisa Mason chose Niyama Private Island for her own honeymoon, here she describes exactly why it is perfect for a romantic and luxurious honeymoon:

The Vibe

Niyama offers a cool and contemporary vibe. If you love modern and contemporary designs with all the mod cons and gadgets you will LOVE Niyama. Each villa is spacious and fresh and comes with luxury amenities and accessories like your very own Ipad, L’Occitane products in the bathroom and complimentary ice cream in your mini bar! All bathrooms are fitted not only with waterfall showers, but the biggest baths I’ve ever seen!

Although the Maldives is the best place to go to completely relax and indulge in a good book, for those who think they will get itchy feet, there is plenty to do. Head to Drift Spa and book a couples spa package and enjoy a few hours in your very own luxurious sanctuary and then after your treatments you can relax in your own garden with pool and showers. Bliss! Wander the island and spot the colourful fish swimming in the shallow waters, take the daily snorkelling boat trip where you will see the most amazing sea life or have a go at paddle boarding or kayaking.

Romantic Dining

Romantic dining is always a must on your honeymoon and with 12 bars and restaurants there are so many options. I recommend heading to ‘Edge’ their overwater restaurant which is on a separate island only accessible by a 5 minute boat ride. Offering a romantic and a once in a life time dining experience. it’s the perfect setting for a fine dining restaurant in the middle of the ocean. You can also dine on the island just the two of you with a romantic set up on the beach or on your very own sand back.

It really is a special island. So what are you waiting for?

Families

Here are just a few reasons why Niyama Private Islands Resort is perfect for your next Maldives family holiday:

Explorers Kids Clubs

Niyama is the only resort in the Maldives offering a club for children under three years old.
With four age specific programmes, kids of all ages will have endless fun. From just 12 months old to 12 years old children can take part in indoor and outdoor activities.
There is a trampoline in the garden, a splash park, Munch – children’s dining and master chef classes, a nap room and activities tailored to specific age groups. Kids can also take part in activities like kayaking, snorkelling safaris, dolphin spotting and crazy crab soccer! On Saturdays, kids can participate in their own fashion show with clothing provided by Paul Ropp. Kids eat lunch for free at Blue and enjoy snacks throughout the day.

In Villa Fun

Turquoise loves Niyama’s treats in the rooms – high-tech toys such as an Ipad, the InnSpire TV system for kids and Niyama’s unique take on a minibar – ‘Deli-In’ – a fridge brimming with gourmet drinks and treats including complimentary ice cream. There are even popcorn-making machines in the rooms.

Play

Float is Niyama’s water sports centre, they have a wealth of activities dedicated for the younger guests who love the water. Kids will also have their own biked and can cycle around the island on their own adventure or for those who love to relax why not head to Lime Spa for a family spa experience and choose from of the kid friendly treatments on the children’s spa menu – choose from a Daphne the Dolphin massage to a Captain Red Claw Manicure.

Surfing

Something very unique to the Maldives is having a surf spot nearby, however Niyama is one step better by being the only island in the Maldives to have its own surf break directly from the beach. Vodi is the name of the house wave that is located directly from Play island making it accessible for all guests of all abilities. Perfect for beginners with smaller waves but at high tide the waves can be bigger and fuller making it an intermediate to advance surf. For a change of scenery guests can head out by a short 5 minute dhoni boat to Kasabu, offering a barrel and cutbacks or for the advanced surfers you can have fun at Hocus Pocus.

Professional surfers from around the world come to Niyama for the surf action as well as professional photographers and surf gurus so guests can experience a world class level of coaching and expertise. If you are an experienced surfer or a keen beginner there is a wave spot for everyone with all abilities and instructors on hand to help and guide you. After your adrenalin rush, head back to shore where you can chill out at the Surf Shack for something to eat whilst watching the waves and fellow surfers with a refreshing drink in your hand.
