Azerai Can Tho, Vietnam
Located close to the bustling riverside city of Can Tho, Azerai is a tranquil retreat for both couples and families to base themselves when exploring the lively Mekong Delta region. The resort is built on a verdant private islet on the Hau River and is only accessible by boat. Either dive from Saigon in three and a half hours, or fly directly to Can Tho from Hanoi, Danang, Phu Quoc or Con Dao, the airport being just 30 minutes’ drive.

Bassac Overnight Mekong Delta Cruise, Vietnam
Since the life of the local people in the Delta is almost entirely river-based, one of the best ways to explore the region and to experience the lifestyle of its inhabitants is by boat. There are three beautiful wooden Bassac boats, one with 6 cabins and the other two with 12 cabins each. Accommodation is cosy but comfortable with dark wooden décor and simple furnishings. All cabins feature air-conditioning and have private en suite bathrooms with a 'wet-room' style shower.
The Victoria Can Tho Resort, Vietnam
Located on the banks of the Hau River (a tributary of the mighty Mekong River), the Victoria Can Tho is at the heart of the Mekong Delta. Although a newly built hotel, it has been constructed in the style of an elegant colonial mansion. The c-shaped resort has a pool at its centre, which overlooks the river itself. The river is, of course, a hub of activity for the local people.
